Color Compositions
After studying the anatomy of colors, I chose five colors to create my color scheme. Although I love using complementary or split complementary colors for my paintings, I felt that I am a monochromatic type of person. As an artist and computer scientist, I love to combine the two to create new media installations or products. Similarly, my colors should be combinations, not separate colors.
I chose purple because it is a mix between blue and pink. Not only do my While I do not support this rigid view of gender colors, it is still I grew up as a tomboy but I really embraced my feminine side in recent years. To represent this I chose purples because it is a mix between blue and pink (I do not support this though!).
My mother gave me my name Chloe because it means roses blooming in the wind and she loved to take me to rose gardens when I was young. Ever since, this flower has a special place in my heart. Using Adobe Illustrator, I created bunches of roses using the pen tool. I created two variations, one light and one black.
While I loved my rose gardens, they could not compare to my love of the beach. The waves and the salty air always brings an uncontrollable smile to my face. I recreated my favorite moment of a beach in sunset using Adobe Illustrator and the pen tool.
Something about bunnies. It speaks to me.
Using Procreate on my iPad, I drew myself in my old apartment in Atlanta. I referenced a picture I took and I loved how the light was shining on my bed and myself.
Using Adobe Lightroom, I recolored my picture of the Fourth of July fireworks at Stone Mountain to fit my color scheme. Can you tell I really miss Atlanta?
Using P5.JS, I created a generative pattern with my color scheme and name. I experimented with different variations such as, how to display my name, how many dots should it have, how big should the dots be. Out of all the variations, I think the left picture was the most successful.
